Getting Back to Normal...

My trip to Kansas was pretty good, thanks for asking.  Esther had a birthday party with her cousins, John, Evelyn & Charlie.  Everyone was very surprised that Charlie came, we didn't even know he was coming til the day before the party.  I guess the grandparents knew for the past month that he was going to be there but forgot to let the party-planners know... Lucky for us, we had 4 cakes so everyone had a birthday cake for their party.

Esther had so much fun eating cake and hanging out with kids her own age. She fell down the stairs and hit some concrete, but she's doing well.  We checked her vitals as much as we could without visiting the hospital, and she seemed to be very normal and she still is herself, so I guess it looked worse than it really was. The last thing we did with Gramma & Grampa Rose was go with them and Charlie to the Dinosaur Museum in Hays, Kansas.  That was a lot of fun too.  We had 3 or 4 different people taking pictures.  I always enjoy seeing the same event through different eyes, and cameras make that possible.

Josh came and picked us up in the middle of the week so we would be in Olathe for his graduation on May 6th.  We all stayed with my Aunt Jeanie Bea that Wednesday & Thursday night.  I don't think I had seen my Aunt in about 10 years, so it was really nice catching up with her.  You don't realize how fast time has gone until you start talking about your youngest brother who's in college now. I don't ever want to go that long without talking to family members.

Josh graduated with honors.  We're all very proud of him.  The funny part was after Baccalaureate Josh was sweating, so I put on his grad robe, and people I knew started congratulating me.  Hehe, talk about déjà vu. We're planning a Post-Grad Party on May 25th.  I'm so glad to have my husband home fulltime now :) and I'm sure Esther has enjoyed having him all to herself these last 3 weeks.

We left Olathe on Monday only to have the car break down in Watertown, South Dakota. Luckily we have Road-Side Assistance through Josh's parent's insurance, so we didn't have to pay to get towed into town.  We were blessed to have Cole's old pastor drive us around while we waited for the car to get done. (They worked really fast, but we did need to stay the night there) We were very blessed while staying in Watertown, down to the end when we went to pay for our car (we knew it'd be pricy, but we would have enough to get us by), and the mechanic told us that Josh's uncle must have won the lottery because our account had been paid in full! God really is looking out for us :)

So... I guess we're trying to "get back to normal" now.  I don't really know what our normal is, since Josh has been in school the whole time we've been married.  We're just trying to raise the money we need for our big move to Mission, Texas where we will be working as volunteer missionaries... but I'll tell you all more about that later since this is already so long.
